Itinerary
Upon arrival in Kathmandu, representatives of Himalayan Monks SP. Z O.O., operating through its local partner Jagadamba Holidays, will warmly welcome you at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, Nepal, with the company’s logo (Himalayan Monks SP. Z O.O.) and traditional marigold garlands. In the event of a late-night arrival, private transportation to the hotel will be arranged by the representative.
Clients will be informed of tour briefings and group meeting times by a representative. During the meeting, travel plans and services will be discussed, and the trek or tour guide will be introduced according to the itinerary. All participants must complete a legally binding travel form and a non-liability disclaimer form. Any outstanding tour payments must be settled during this meeting.
We normally fly from Kathmandu to Lukla (2,846 m), the gateway to the Everest region. If direct flights are unavailable, we travel via Ramechhap (Manthali). When time allows, we explore Kathmandu Valley before driving to Manthali for an overnight stay. If the schedule is tight, we depart Kathmandu around 2:00 AM for the four-hour drive (132 km) to Manthali to catch the early morning flight.
The first flight from Ramechhap to Lukla departs at 6:30 AM, ensuring a smooth and timely arrival in the mountains. Upon landing in Lukla, you’ll meet your trekking guide and porter, followed by a short tea break before beginning the trek.
The trek to Phakding (2,620 m) follows a scenic trail through Nurning Ghat, covering approximately 8.5 km in 3–4 hours. Along the way, you’ll enjoy gentle ups and downs, ascending about 190 meters and descending 380 meters. Phakding, a charming riverside village, is the largest settlement in the area and a perfect first overnight stop. After arrival, enjoy time to relax before meeting your guide to review the next day’s plan.
Namaste Lodge
After breakfast, begin your trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440 m) via Monjo. The trail spans approximately 9.5 km and takes 5–6 hours, with a steady ascent of 860 meters. Following the Dudh Koshi River, you’ll cross iconic suspension bridges draped in prayer flags and walk through picturesque Sherpa villages and lush rhododendron forests.
As the trail climbs, stunning views of snow-covered Himalayan peaks gradually unfold, making the challenge both rewarding and inspiring. Upon arrival in Namche Bazaar—the vibrant heart of the Khumbu region—you’ll feel the energy of this famous mountain town.
Namche offers excellent facilities, colorful markets, cafés, and bakeries, all set against dramatic alpine scenery. After settling into your lodge, take time to rest, rehydrate, and enjoy a warm meal. The evening is perfect for relaxing and preparing for the upcoming acclimatization day, ensuring a safe and enjoyable trek ahead.
 Khumbu Lodge
Enjoy a well-earned acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar, designed to help your body adjust to the altitude while exploring the beauty of the Khumbu region. After breakfast, choose to relax and explore Namche’s lively streets or join an optional acclimatization hike to Khunde via Khumjung and the famous Everest View Hotel (3,880 m).
The scenic trail offers spectacular views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. A steady uphill climb leads to the Everest View Hotel, where you can enjoy refreshments while taking in one of the finest mountain panoramas in the world. The hike continues to Khunde, a traditional Sherpa village known for its monasteries and cultural heritage.
After exploring the village, return to Namche Bazaar for lunch and free time to shop, rest, or enjoy a café with mountain views. In the evening, gather with the group for dinner and a briefing, preparing for the next stage of the trek.
Khumbu Lodge
After breakfast in Namche Bazaar, begin your trek toward Dole (4,200 m) via the scenic Mong La Pass (3,975 m). The trail covers approximately 11.8 km and takes 6–7 hours, with a gradual but rewarding ascent of 1,160 meters.
Leaving Namche, the path winds through lush rhododendron and pine forests, alive with Himalayan flora and occasional wildlife such as yaks and mountain goats. The climb to Mong La Pass is a highlight of the day, offering breathtaking panoramic views of iconic peaks like Ama Dablam and Thamserku—an ideal spot for rest and photography.
From the pass, the trail descends gently through alpine meadows and yak pastures before reaching the tranquil village of Dole. This peaceful Sherpa settlement, surrounded by terraced hillsides and dramatic mountain scenery, offers a perfect place to unwind.

After breakfast in Dole, begin a scenic trek to Machhermo (4,470 m), a quiet high-altitude village in the Everest region. The trail covers around 5 km and takes 3–4 hours, with a gradual ascent of approximately 400 meters—ideal for steady acclimatization.
Leaving Dole, the path winds through open alpine meadows and yak pastures, passing traditional stone houses and offering expansive views of the surrounding mountains. On clear days, you’ll enjoy impressive vistas of Cho Oyu (8,201 m), the world’s sixth-highest peak, rising majestically above the valley.
The route continues through high-altitude landscapes and small streams, providing a peaceful trekking experience away from crowded trails. A brief stop at the small settlement of Luza (4,360 m) allows time to rest and take in the dramatic scenery before continuing toward Machhermo.
Upon arrival, settle into your lodge and explore the village, known for its yak herding culture and the historic Machhermo Rescue Center, which offers valuable insight into altitude awareness. Machermo Lodge
Today is a scheduled acclimatization day in Machhermo (4,470 m), allowing your body to adjust to the increasing altitude while enjoying the tranquility of this high Himalayan village. Begin the day with a relaxed breakfast and take time to rest, explore the village, or interact with the friendly Sherpa community. You may also visit the Machhermo Rescue Post to learn valuable information about altitude awareness and safe trekking practices.
For those feeling energetic, an optional acclimatization hike to Machhermo Peak (approx. 4,600 m) is highly rewarding. This short but scenic climb offers spectacular panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, including the towering Cho Oyu. The moderate trail makes for an ideal altitude hike, helping improve acclimatization while providing excellent photo opportunities of the rugged Himalayan landscape.
After returning to Machhermo, enjoy a warm meal and a relaxing evening at the lodge. As the sun sets over the mountains, gather with your group to share stories and prepare for the next stage of the journey.
Machermo Lodge
After breakfast in Machhermo, continue your trek toward the stunning village of Gokyo (4,790 m), set beside the famous turquoise Gokyo Lakes. The trail covers approximately 6.9 km and takes 3–4 hours, with a steady ascent of around 390 meters.
The route passes through open valleys and alpine meadows, where yaks graze and Himalayan birds glide overhead. As you gain altitude, the landscape becomes increasingly dramatic, offering impressive views of Cho Oyu and surrounding snow-capped peaks. Leaving Dole, the path winds through beautiful rhododendron and pine forests before descending to the riverside settlement of Phortse Tenga. After breakfast, begin your descent from Tengboche toward Monjo (2,835 m) via the scenic viewpoint of Kyangjuma (3,600 m). This longer but rewarding day covers approximately 15.5 km and takes 6–7 hours, featuring a gradual ascent followed by a significant descent through diverse landscapes.
Leaving the serene surroundings of Tengboche Monastery, the trail winds through rhododendron and pine forests, accompanied by mountain air and distant views of snow-covered peaks. Reaching Kyangjuma, enjoy sweeping panoramas of Ama Dablam, Everest, and Lhotse—one of the most photogenic spots in the region.
The trail then descends through lush river valleys, crossing suspension bridges over the Dudh Koshi River and passing through traditional Sherpa villages. As altitude decreases, the scenery transitions into greener terrain, highlighting the rich natural diversity of the Khumbu region.
