Your adventure begins with a scenic journey to Pokhara, a charming lakeside city set beside the peaceful Phewa Lake. Travelers can choose between a comfortable 6–7 hour drive from Kathmandu, passing through green hills, terraced fields, and traditional villages, or a quick 30-minute flight for a more convenient and scenic option. The flight, available at an additional cost, offers stunning aerial views of the Himalayan landscape.
Upon arrival, Pokhara welcomes you with a calm atmosphere and magnificent views of the Annapurna range. As the main gateway to the trek, this beautiful city is the perfect place to relax, explore, and prepare for the adventure ahead.
After breakfast in Pokhara, you will meet your trekking guide and porter before setting off on a scenic jeep drive to Kande (1,770 m), the starting point of the Mardi Himal Trek. The 40-minute drive offers beautiful views of terraced hills, green valleys, and traditional villages, giving an early taste of Nepal’s rural landscape.
From Kande, the trek begins with a steady ascent through rhododendron and oak forests. After about an hour, you reach Australian Camp (2,065 m), a popular viewpoint offering stunning views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and Machapuchare—perfect for a short break and photos.

New Laligurans Guest House
After breakfast at Pitam Deurali, the trek continues toward Forest Camp (2,600 m), one of the most peaceful sections of the Mardi Himal Trek. This part of the trail is known for its quiet paths, dense forests, and sense of isolation away from Nepal’s busier trekking routes.
The walk covers around 6 km and takes 4–5 hours, with a gradual elevation gain of about 600 meters. The trail climbs steadily through thick rhododendron and oak forests, offering cool shade and a refreshing atmosphere. During spring, the forest comes alive with colorful blooms, while birds, monkeys, and other Himalayan wildlife add to the natural charm.
With no villages along the way, this stretch feels like a true wilderness experience. Occasional forest clearings offer brief glimpses of Machapuchare and the Annapurna peaks, hinting at the dramatic views ahead.
Upon reaching Forest Camp (Kokar), you’ll find a small, quiet settlement with a few cozy teahouses surrounded by towering trees. The calm environment makes it an ideal place to rest and prepare for the higher alpine terrain awaiting on the next day of the Mardi Himal Trek.
Hotel Forest Camp
After breakfast at Forest Camp (2,600 m), the trek continues toward Low Camp (3,035 m), offering the first close-up views of the Annapurna range and the iconic Machhapuchchhre (Fishtail).
